Arronbrook named finalists in Made In Hull Awards at Humber Business Week 2017

Everyone here at Arronbrook Leisure Homes is delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious 'Made in Hull' awards as part of Humber Business Week.

Established in 1987, our family-run business now exports around 60 per cent of all bespoke holiday homes we make to European customers in Belgium, Holland, Norway and France.

In 2007 and 2008, when the caravan industry suffered a dip during the recession, export sales helped to keep the business afloat. In 2016, we enjoyed a best-ever year for overseas sales after enhancing our three main caravan designs.

Having seen the judges recognise this achievement, we were proud to receive a nomination in the ‘Made in Hull Sold Overseas’ category – a showcase for excellence in manufacturing.

Director Paul Coombs attended the awards ceremony at KCOM Craven Park and was proud to showcase the talents of his local work force.

He said: “This nomination reflects all the dedication and hard work that everyone here puts in on a daily basis to make sure each one of our holiday homes is of the highest quality.

“Having been in business for almost 30 years, we’re proud to be a Hull company and we always sing the city’s praises to all our export customers. This has been the case even more so this year with the UK City of Culture 2017 celebrations going on, especially when we’ve entertained our European clients on business trips.

“Although we’ve always had strong UK sales, we work hard on the export side of our business and we’re delighted that this has been recognised by industry leaders in Hull. But it wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our talented and hard-working staff, who help to make it all possible.”

Despite not winning the award, we were pleased to see the judges praise our commitment to sourcing all key components from local independent suppliers. This means we now support nine other Hull-based businesses, including Summerbridge Doors, Carafax, Halmshaws, Bridgewood Plastics, Bankside Patterson, Bayram Timber, Danfast, Bonus Electrical and haulage firm Neill & Brown.

Paul added: “We are proud that every caravan we produce truly is ‘Made in Hull’ and we’d like to thank all of our suppliers for their continued help and support.”
